Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
